I’ve got several different projects on the go at the moment. Flicking between ideas, drafting and editing is how I work best – maybe I’ve just got a short attention span!
One of the projects I’m most excited about is my collaboration with the composer, Isabel Benito-Gutierrez, for the Rosamond Prize pairings. Isabel is setting one of my poems to music and sent me the above image of how things are developing. I don’t read music so I confess I don’t understand it but I’m thrilled to see the look of her work on the page. The notes create a visual poem of their own, don’t you think? And of course, I’m super-excited about hearing the composition in a few weeks.
You can listen to some of Isabel’s music on her blog. It’s beautiful, inspiring, challenging and my current playlist while I work.
